Main Purpose of the Role

We currently have the following opportunities available from August 2026: Teacher of Design Engineering Technology, 2 posts – PKC13624. £36,159 – £54,453. Perth High School. This is an exciting time to join our team. Perth High School is a large, friendly and welcoming comprehensive, drawing pupils from a mix of Perth City and rural Perthshire. We are an ambitious school community and are undergoing a significant period of change, having recently moved into our state of the art Passivhaus standard building, completed in August 2025.
We are looking for two highly enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our thriving Design Engineering & Technology department as Teachers of Design Engineering and Technology. Please note, we are currently unable to offer sponsorship for this post.
Skills & Experience Required
You should have experience in planning and delivering engaging and stimulating learning experiences that meet the needs of all learners. The successful candidates will be excellent teachers with a track record of forming and developing strong relationships and effective collaborative working practices. You will have excellent communication skills and experience of positively engaging learners, families, colleagues and school partners to improve outcomes for young people. You will be committed to promoting and demonstrating our school values of Ambition, Respect and Equity, acting as an outstanding role model for others.

Requirements and Disclosures
Working with children and/or protected adults is regarded as a regulated role and under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020 you will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check and maintain your membership. If you have lived overseas for a period of 12 months or more (continuous or total) within the last 10 years, whilst over the age of 18, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required and you will be required to provide this check. GTCS registration is required. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of the above-mentioned mandatory pre‑employment checks (including references) and will also include eligibility to work in the UK, qualifications and fitness to undertake the post.
