This full-time, permanent position of Senior Clerical Assistant within the City Locality Housing Team is extremely busy and varied. The Senior Clerical Assistant is the first point of contact for customers both internal and external accessing our service through reception and telephone calls, generic email inbox etc.

The Senior Clerical Assistant will provide administrative support within the locality housing team in relation to managing appointments, preparing documents, updating systems etc. This role places a strong focus on customer service.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual who has a flair for customer service, to provide administrative support for housing staff within the locality housing team in Pullar House. If you have an interest in housing, this is an excellent development opportunity. This role is fully office-based and there is no opportunity for hybrid working.

Skills & Experience Required:
  • You must be an organised and structured individual, capable of prioritisation and working to tight deadlines, whilst being able to react as situations arise.
  • You must have a commitment to providing a high standard of customer service, communicating well both verbally and in writing with an empathetic and non-judgemental approach.
  • You must be competent in the use of all Microsoft packages, specifically Word, Outlook and Excel, and be digitally competent and comfortable in learning new systems.
  • You must be able to work well within a team environment, but also using your own initiative and seek solutions to problems.
  • You must be able to appropriately apply confidentiality when using and sharing information and have an awareness of the relevant legislation.
  • You must be comfortable and confident in handling cash as there is a requirement to reconcile petty cash.
  • You must be able to evaluate the significance and urgency of information received and take appropriate action.
  • You must be friendly, outgoing and approachable, good at multi-tasking and a committed team player who can work well within a large team and be open to others' thoughts and opinions.
