Main Purpose of the Role

We currently have the following opportunity from August 2026: Teacher of Business and Computing - PKC13725.

Kinross High School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Business and Computing to join our dynamic and supportive Technologies Faculty on a full‑time, permanent basis. The post will start at the beginning of the 2026-27 academic session in August 2026. Applications are welcome from newly qualified teachers, as well as more experienced practitioners who are keen to make a positive contribution to a forward-looking school community.

The purpose of the role is to deliver Business Education across all year groups, including the senior phase, and to teach Computing, initially within the Broad General Education. The successful postholder will play an important role in ensuring high‑quality learning and teaching experiences that support progress, attainment and achievement for all learners.

In addition to delivering Computing within the BGE, the successful candidate will be expected to grow and develop the Computing offer over time, expanding provision to senior phase. They will take innovative and inclusive approaches to learning and teaching, ensuring that young people are supported to achieve success in Computing at all levels, whatever their starting point.

Applicants should be fully registered with the GTCS in either Business or Computing and working towards registration in the second subject area. Applicants should be fully registered with the GTCS in either Business or Computing and working towards registration in the second subject area. The successful candidate will demonstrate effective and engaging classroom practice, be inclusive and show a clear commitment to raising attainment and achievement. The successful postholder will be able to build positive, respectful and supportive relationships with young people, colleagues and parents, and will show a strong commitment to professional learning and to contributing to the wider life of the school.

Eligibility and Checks

Working with children and/or protected adults is regarded as a regulated role and under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020 you will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If you have lived overseas for a period of 12 months or more (continuous or total) within the last 10 years, whilst over the age of 18, you will need to provide an Overseas Criminal Record Check. GTCS registration is required. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of the above mentioned mandatory pre‑employment checks (including references) and will also include eligibility to work in the UK, qualifications and fitness to undertake the post.
