We currently have the following opportunity:
As an individual and or team member, you will perform maintenance tasks throughout the Perth area such as grass and hedge cutting with various implements, pesticide application and litter collection. Candidates should have horticultural background with good plant knowledge. You may also be required to carry out other duties such as assisting with burials, street sweeping, refuse collection and any other Environment Service\’s tasks as and when required.
You must be able to demonstrate the ability to competently operate and maintain grass cutting machinery etc.
You must be a team player who understands the importance of good morale and proactively pursues good professional relationships with colleagues.
You must be able to carry out the physical demands of the post.
You must be able to do any paperwork associated with the post e.g. timesheets.
The Environment Service operates new ways of working, which is a variable shift system involving annualised hours, longer hours in summer and shorter in winter. The posts are Sun-Wed week 1 and Sun-Tues week 2, Thurs – Sat week 1 and Wed – Sat week 2.

Skills & Experience Required
You will bring a positive energy; have the ability to work well as part of a team.
You will be aware of Health & Safety legislation, you will have effective visual skills with the ability to ensure the safety of other road users and pedestrians, you will have the ability to carry out vehicle inspections, ensuring that your vehicle is safe to drive and meets all legal requirements.
You will have the ability to operate and to navigate in and around the Perth & Kinross area.
