Main Purpose of the Role

We currently have the following opportunity: Golf Course Operative (Fixed Term until 31 October 2026) - PKC13509 £20,872 - £21,998 (28.8 Hours per week) North Inch Golf Course, Perth.

We are seeking to appoint a Seasonal Golf Course Operative to work at North Inch Golf Course as part of the Community Greenspace team, from mid-March until 31 October 2026. The successful candidate will work within a small, friendly team responsible for the day-to-day operation of the golf course, helping to deliver a welcoming and well-run facility for all users.

Duties will include:

  • Welcoming golfers, collecting green fees, and managing bookings by telephone, email, and in person.
  • Assisting with the marketing and promotion of the golf course online; good computer skills and confidence using digital platforms are essential.
  • Assisting with basic golf course maintenance tasks, including grass cutting, leaf blowing, litter picking, raking bunkers, and replacing divots.

This element of the role requires a reasonable level of physical fitness; full training will be provided. Hours are worked on a rota basis and will include regular evening and weekend working. Due to the nature of the post, the successful candidate will be required to work outdoors on a regular basis. This is a fixed-term post until 31 October 2026.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential:

  • Basic knowledge of golf and an understanding of golf etiquette, with a keen interest in the sport.
  • Friendly, approachable, and welcoming manner with strong customer service skills.
  • Experience of dealing with the public in a customer-facing role.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a small team.
  • Computer literate, with experience using IT systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends on a rota basis.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Reasonable level of physical fitness to assist with occasional course maintenance duties.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working in a golf, leisure, or outdoor environment.
  • Experience supporting online bookings or basic digital marketing activity.
