We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Nursery Teacher to join our Early Learning and Childcare team.

As part of a highly motivated staff team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality learning and teaching that supports children to achieve their full potential. You will create a nurturing, inclusive and stimulating environment where children feel safe, valued and inspired to learn through play.

You will work closely with families, colleagues and partner agencies to promote positive outcomes for all children, ensuring that children's wellbeing, rights and achievements are at the heart of your practice.

You will contribute to self-evaluation and continuous improvement, helping to maintain high standards across the setting.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to inclusion, equity and excellence and have a sound understanding of current national and local priorities within Early Learning and Childcare.

Skills & Experience Required

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

You will:

  • Be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS).
  • Have experience of planning, delivering and evaluating high-quality learning through play.
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of child development and early years pedagogy.
  • Promote children's wellbeing in line with GIRFEC and Children's Rights principles.
  • Have a commitment to inclusive practice and meeting the needs of all learners, including those requiring additional support.
  • Build positive and respectful relationships with children, families, colleagues and partner agencies.
  • Use observation and assessment effectively to support children's learning and development.
  • Demonstrate effective communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute positively to service improvement.
  • Engage in reflective practice and ongoing professional learning.

GTCS registration is required.

Where your application is successful, you will be required to attain the necessary paperwork from to obtain RC approval from the Catholic Church Authorities.

A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of the above mentioned mandatory pre-employment checks (including references) and will also include eligibility to work in the UK, qualifications and fitness to undertake the post.
