Main Purpose of the Role

We currently have the following opportunity: Chargehand Advanced Electrician - PKC13421 £37,763 Ruthvenfield Depot, Ruthvenfield Road, Inveralmond Industrial Estate, Perth. Ruthvenfield Depot, Perth is the contractual base; however, the post holder will be considered a mobile worker and start their working day from their home address.

At Perth & Kinross Council, our electricians ensure our housing stock is maintained, and all electrical installations are safe, compliant with electrical regulations and working efficiently for our tenants. Working 37 hours each week, 8am - 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 8am - 13:00 on Fridays, your work will include:

  • Planned electrical maintenance
  • Day to day emergency and responsive repairs
  • Electrical testing and the preparation of vacant properties for relet

Our Housing Repairs Service operates an out of hours emergency repairs service 24 hours / 365 days per year. You would be expected to participate in this rota approximately one week in every seven weeks. You’ll work in our team of electricians and other trades staff travelling throughout the stunning Perth and Kinross area in one of our fleet vehicles, so will be required to hold a valid driving licence.

As a fully qualified electrician, you’ll be encouraged and supported to gain further qualifications such as Approved Electrician status. If you haven’t completed your qualification just yet, we’d still love to hear from you. You might be about to finish an apprenticeship and looking for your next move or, if you are part way through, we may be able to support and help you to complete your qualification. You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
