Main Purpose of the Role

We currently have the following opportunity: Care Assistant / Domestic - PKC13467 £10,870 - £11,457 (11 Hours per week) Blairgowrie Day Opportunities, Jessie Street, Blairgowrie.

An opportunity has arisen within Blairgowrie Day Opportunities for a Domestic working 15 hours per week. Your working hours will be Monday to Friday, 2pm to 5pm (3 hours per day). As a Domestic, you will undertake the cleaning of designated areas, which may include toilets, dining and common areas, to ensure that these areas are maintained in line with infection prevention and control standards.

You will be a flexible, adaptable, security and environmentally conscious individual with the ability to work under your own initiative and will have a basic knowledge of cleaning methods and an awareness of customer care. Blairgowrie Opportunities is a building and community-based service operating from various venues in the Blairgowrie area. The service supports adults with learning disabilities and older adults to make the best use of a specialist centre, local services and community facilities to allow service users to participate in activities and interests to meet their goals and aspirations. Within this role, there may be some general care and support for service users during the first hour of working.

Skills & Experience Required

There is no entry requirement; however, there may be the option to work towards achieving an SVQ level 2 in Social Services & Healthcare / Health and Social Care. We are looking for someone who has a genuine interest and commitment to ensuring the environment remains clean and hygienic. You will also have the opportunity to work with the wider care team and service users at the start of the contracted time, providing general support in a respectful and caring manner. You will require patience and empathy and be able to build effective relationships. You will be adaptable to change with a flexible approach to day-to-day tasks and have the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with all team members and service users.
