The Community School of Auchterarder
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Assistant to join our school’s office team.
This is a part-time, term-time only post and is initially temporary to August 2026.
As a Business Assistant, your main responsibility will be to provide a wide range of Reception services, as well as other office duties, as required by the School Office Manager.
You will be joining our friendly and busy office team of six and working mainly from the main school office. As part of this role, you will also be working with pupils and other school staff colleagues every day.
You will have the opportunity to participate in on-the-job training and your continuous development will be encouraged and supported throughout your career with Perth & Kinross Council.
The Business Assistant post reports to the Office Manager.
The working hours for this post is 30 hours per week and is term-time only. Ideally, the working pattern for this role is Monday – Friday, 8:30am to 3.00pm.
It is anticipated that interviews for this post will be held on Wednesday 16 July 2025.
Skills & Experience Required
We are looking for an individual who:
• Is motivated, adaptable and flexible
• Is dedicated to delivering excellent customer service
• Is keen to learn and to develop their skills and knowledge
• Has excellent IT skills, including proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
• Is able to work effectively as part of a team but also operate independently when required.
It would be desirable if you:
• Have knowledge and experience of working within a school environment, including using SEEMIS
• Hold a current first aid certificate (training can be provided).
About the School
The Community School of Auchterarder is an all-through school, comprising Nursery, Primary and Secondary departments serving the community of Auchterarder and surrounding district.
We have a roll of approximately 1,100 children and young people across all three sectors.
The school is situated in a rural location, approximately 14 miles south of Perth with good road networks to the rest of Perthshire, Glasgow, Edinburgh and the central belt. Our Associated Primary Schools are Aberuthven, Blackford and Dunning.
