Main Purpose of the Role

We currently have the following opportunity: Auxiliary - PKC13762 £10,683 - £11,160 (15 Hours per week) Strathmore Street Sheltered Housing, Perth.
We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for someone to come and work in Strathmore Street Sheltered Housing unit in Perth as an auxiliary. The role involves carrying out cleaning tasks and working closely with the Housing Support Officer in Strathmore Street. The post is 3 hours per day, generally in the mornings, Monday to Friday- working a total of 15 hours per week. You will be required to provide cover during holidays and sickness in other sheltered housing units. You will be expected to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in communal and external areas within this Sheltered Housing Unit and ensure compliance with Health and Safety Regulations. You will support the Housing Support Officer with any activities or events such as coffee mornings. You will also assist the Housing Support Officer in emergency situations such as when a tenant has had a fall or has taken unwell. You will report damage and any other issues or concerns to the Housing Support Officer.

Skills & Experience Required
This is a physically demanding role, so you must be in good health and able to cope with the demands of the role. Candidates should meet all the requirements stated in the job profile including:
- Having previous cleaning experience.
- Having a knowledge of Health and safety principles and good practice including in relation to infection prevention and control.
- Demonstrating confidentiality and integrity of all Council information.
- Experience of working with cleaning materials.
- Being able to treat all colleagues and customers with dignity and respect and be sensitive to the needs of older people.
- Giving a high priority to customer satisfaction.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and being able to prioritise constant and often conflicting demands.
- Willingness to travel to other locations to provide holiday and sickness cover when required.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new situations and working methods.
- Being a good team player.
- Being fit, healthy and able to cope with this physically demanding role.
