We currently have the following opportunity: Teacher of English (Fixed Term for up to 12 Months) - PKC13504 £34,938 - £52,614 The Community School of Auchterarder.
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Teacher of English to join our thriving English Faculty. This post will start on or after 2 March 2026 and is temporary, to cover a maternity leave. This is a full-time, 1FTE post, but we will consider applications from candidates wishing to work 0.8FTE.
About the School
The Community School of Auchterarder is an all-through school, comprising Nursery, Primary and Secondary departments serving the community of Auchterarder and surrounding district. We have a roll of approximately 1,100 children and young people across all three sectors. The school is situated in a rural location, approximately 14 miles south of Perth with good road networks to the rest of Perthshire, Glasgow, Edinburgh and the central belt. Our Associated Primary Schools are Aberuthven, Blackford and Dunning. Our school motto is ‘Strive to Excel’ and, working together, we encourage all children and young people to aspire to be the best they can be. Our aim is to build a community of learners who are:

Skills & Experience Required
The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of pedagogies that engage learners. The successful candidate will take account of the needs of all learners in their classrooms and ensure inclusive practice that leads to positive outcomes for learners. An ability to analyse data to ensure that outcomes for young people are the best they possibly can be will be required. High aspirations for learners, good communication skills with parents/carers and respectful relationships are essential. The successful applicant will be skilled in positive behaviour management techniques including restorative approaches. If you are an enthusiastic, motivated professional with strong organisational skills and who strives to secure the best outcomes for young people then this may be the opportunity for you. You must have GTCS Registration in English.
