Main Purpose of the Role

We currently have the following opportunity:

  • Pupil Support Assistant (Fixed Term until 31 December 2026) – PKC14024
  • £9,637- £10,153 (15 hours per week, term-time only)
  • Abernethy Primary School

As PSA you will be supporting learners in the classroom and at times in small groups or 1:1 to develop their play and learning skills. You will be able to follow the guidance of the Class Teacher in helping children with their literacy and numeracy skills whilst also using your initiative to identify next steps, or support them with their progress.

Skills & Experience Required

Whilst it is preferable to have experience in supporting in Primary Schools, training and support can be given to some degree, on the job. Personal skills including being a very good communicator, kind and nurturing in your manner and with an appropriate sense of humour and enthusiasm are essential. Likewise, being literate and numerate are necessary to support children with their work.
