Breadalbane Academy is proud to provide Gaelic Medium Education across our Nursery, Primary and Secondary settings (ages 2–18). We are committed to offering young people meaningful opportunities to engage with Scotland’s cultural heritage, including a rich understanding of Gaelic language and culture. In doing so, we support learners to develop fluency, confidence and pride in Gaelic, while contributing to the continued vitality of the language in Perthshire.
This post is based within the Secondary department, delivering Gaelic to learners within the Broad General Education (BGE) and Senior Phase, including National Qualifications and Higher Gaelic. The role involves working closely with pupils who have progressed through Gaelic Medium Education, supporting continuity in their language development and attainment.
Applicants must be fluent in spoken Gaelic and confident in delivering learning through the medium of Gaelic. We are seeking a teacher who brings creativity, adaptability and a strong commitment to meeting the needs of young people. This is a varied and rewarding role in which relationships are central. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator who builds strong, positive connections with pupils, families and colleagues.
A strong understanding of the Curriculum for Excellence across the secondary stages is essential, along with experience of planning and delivering high-quality learning and teaching in Gaelic. Experience of supporting learners towards positive attainment in National Qualifications and Higher is highly desirable. The ability to contribute effectively across the Broad General Education, alongside a clear commitment to ongoing professional learning and reflective practice, is key.
