We are looking for an experienced, compassionate and approachable leader to become the Care Home Manager at Dalweem Residential Care Home in Aberfeldy. About Dalweem Dalweem provides residential care for up to 16 residents. As Care Home Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead a committed care team and shape a service where residents receive safe, effective and personalised support, enabling them to live fulfilling lives and remain connected to their communities. This is a varied and rewarding leadership role in which you will oversee the day-to-day running of the home, work closely with the wider management team and help create a welcoming, respectful and well-managed environment for residents, families and staff. As Care Home Manager, you will: Provide visible, supportive leadership to the care home team. Promote a culture of collaboration, openness and continuous improvement. Ensure residents receive safe, personalised and high-quality care. Embed safeguarding, effective risk management and best practice throughout the home. Monitor service quality and take proactive action where improvements are required. Support staff through induction, supervision, training, development and performance management. Manage resources and devolved budgets effectively, securing value for money and supporting the financial sustainability of the home. Ensure effective health and safety arrangements, emergency planning and civil contingency measures are in place. Work collaboratively with residents, families, colleagues and partner organisations. You will also be responsible for ensuring that Dalweem continues to meet Care Inspectorate regulatory requirements and recognised standards of good practice. The successful candidate will be required to undertake the responsibilities of the Registered Manager. Please note, we are currently unable to offer sponsorship for this post. Skills & Experience Required About you We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting older people to live well and who understands the importance of delivering care that is safe, respectful, personal and responsive. You will bring: Experience of leading and managing staff, ideally within a similar care environment. A warm, approachable and professional communication style. The ability to build positive relationships with residents and discuss their wellbeing sensitively. Strong planning and organisational skills. The ability to manage competing priorities and varied workloads. Sound judgement and the ability to analyse information, resolve problems and prioritise action. An understanding of safeguarding, risk management, health and safety and emergency planning. The confidence to work with families, professionals and a range of partner organisations. Knowledge of financial procedures and experience of managing budgets, efficiency and value for money. A commitment to promoting Perth & Kinross Council’s values and behaviours in your everyday leadership practice. Essential qualifications and registration Practice qualification SVQ Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF Level 9, previously known as SVQ Level 4. Management qualification You must hold an appropriate management award, including: A management award certificated at or above SCQF Level 9, with a minimum of 60 credits, mapped against the National Occupational Standards: Leadership and Management for Care Services at SCQF Level 10; or SVQ Care Services Leadership and Management at SCQF Level 10. The role requires registration with the Scottish Social Services Council as a Manager in a Care Home Service for Adults. If you are not already registered, you can still apply, provided you are willing to apply for the appropriate registration within three months of starting and complete registration within the required timescale. You must have a valid driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
