Overview

JOB TITLE: Youth Development Worker – Temp x 2

LOCATION: Falmouth

SALARY: £14.82/hr

DURATION: 8 weeks

PLEASE NOTE: due to the urgency of this role, it is essential that anyone put forward for this role has a full, current Enhanced DBS or is part of the Update Service

We are looking to fill the role of Youth Development Worker, within a housing environment, As well as meeting housing demand our client aims to enable local companies to recruit the workforce they need from their communities.

Their growth strategy will contribute to economic growth and sustain around 7,000 jobs in the building industry and its supply chain. With a plan to increase stock by 5,000 homes over the next 5 years, providing more affordable housing options on a low-cost rent and sale basis, this employer is a much sought after option, offering benefits and stability alike.

The Role

  • Supporting young people (16-25years) in a Key Worker role.
  • Providing and updating action plans and risk assessments
  • Offering young people in supported accommodation encouragement to achieve dreams
  • Being part of an on site team supporting young residents with their living needs
  • Ensuring young people are supported in developing life skills to be able to move into the community
  • Lead and support group activities as part of our learning program, forming a sense of community and engagement.

The Candidate will need

  • A drive to find solutions in supporting young people with a range of backgrounds
  • An understanding of young people’s needs and interests, allowing appropriate actions plans to be made
  • A passion for providing immediate care and support for young people with safeguarding and emotional and mental health issues
  • Having a resilient and flexible nature when dealing with others
  • Being able to work under pressure while producing support plans and meeting deadlines
  • Happy to work alone or in a team environment.
  • A positive, creative approach, with a can-do attitude whilst maintaining professional boundaries
  • To hold a valid driving licence

Summary

This role is being offered on a full time, Temporary basis

Working hours to 37 a week, Mon to Fri with one weekend in four.

Shift work mix of 8 till 4, 10 till 6, 12 till 8pm

An enhanced DBS adult and child needs to be already held
