The Role
We are currently recruiting reliable, hardworking and self‑motivated individuals to join our field‑based team based out of Warrington as Van Driver / Refrigeration Cabinet Maintenance PPM Engineers / Operatives. The role involves driving a company van to retail sites and carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and cleaning of refrigeration cabinets. Regular travel is required, with overnight stays away from home on occasion. This is primarily a night‑working role, averaging 45 hours per week, with flexibility required to work varying shift patterns when necessary.
Scope & Purpose
As a Van Driver / Refrigeration Cabinet Maintenance PPM Engineer, you will ensure refrigeration equipment within your allocated area operates efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with contractual and health & safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive a company van from the Warrington base to assigned retail locations
- Liaise with the Regional Supervisor to ensure planned works and KPIs are delivered in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Carry out refrigeration cabinet cleaning and PPM maintenance in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Safely isolate refrigeration units prior to maintenance
- Perform PPM checks including drains, fans and electronic leak detection
- Work to a scheduled maintenance programme to ensure reliable operation of refrigeration equipment
- Assist with additional maintenance or support duties as required
- Support the Regional Supervisor in identifying and resolving on‑site issues
- Work collaboratively within the team and support colleagues when required
- Follow all Health & Safety guidelines, Risk Assessments and Method Statements
- Report any site issues or risks to the Supervisor or Case Maintenance Manager
- Complete all required app‑based and written documentation (Job Logic, Verisae, maintenance reports, completion notes)
The Person
The successful candidate will have:
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- A full UK driving licence (essential)
- Previous refrigeration or PPM experience (desirable but not essential — full training provided)
- A practical or technical background
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Strong communication and customer service skills
