Transport Operator at Hams Hall, working in a fast-paced and supportive environment. Shift Pattern 4 on 4 off – Days (06:00–18:00). Salary £29,086.20.
The Role
As a Transport Operator, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring transport operations run smoothly and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring day-to-day transport operations.
- Managing all aspects of vehicle and driver compliance.
- Driver performance management.
- Liaising with depots and delivery points.
- Assigning drivers and fleet using transport planning systems.
- Debriefing drivers and handling delivery rejections (temperature, damages, wrong product).
- Creating goods return notifications (GRNs).
- Handling vehicle and trailer breakdowns.
- Stock allocation and invoicing.
- Managing departure schedules.
- Scanning, filing, and reporting.
- Day-to-day operational activity management.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous transport experience.
- Knowledge of drivers’ hours and transport legislation.
- Experience with transport management systems (or a willingness to learn).
- Strong IT skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Target-focused with the ability to work under pressure.
- Great communicator with excellent organisation skills and a team-focused attitude.
