This Structural Consultancy are a specialist practice with high-quality design and conservation projects across the UK. They are seeking a Structural Engineer with experience in heritage, restoration, or conservation work to join their growing team and work with their high profile clients and projects.
You’ll work on the assessment, repair, and strengthening of historic and listed buildings, collaborating closely with architects, conservation officers, and clients. Projects range from sensitive restoration of landmark buildings to adaptive reuse and complex refurbishments.
Key Responsibilities:- Undertake structural assessments, surveys, and detailed design for heritage structures.
- Develop repair and conservation strategies respecting historic fabric.
- Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Liaise with design teams, contractors, and conservation authorities.
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng/MEng/MSc).
- Professional structural experience working on heritage or conservation projects.
- Strong understanding of traditional materials – masonry, timber, and stone.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency with structural design software and CAD.
