We are currently recruiting for an Import/Export Coordinator on behalf of our client. The Imports / Exports Coordinator will coordinate shipments, ensuring all goods are moved efficiently, compliantly, and on time. The role involves handling documentation, liaising with freight partners, and ensuring adherence to UK customs and international trade regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate end-to-end import and export shipments
  • Prepare, check, and process all import and export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and transport documents
  • Ensure compliance with UK customs regulations and international trade laws
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, hauliers, and overseas agents
  • Track shipments and resolve delays, discrepancies, or customs issues
  • Communicate shipment updates to customers and internal teams
  • Support customs declarations and provide required information to HMRC
  • Monitor freight costs and assist with quotations
  • Maintain accurate records and filing of shipment documentation
  • Support continuous improvement of import/export processes

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in an imports and/or exports role
  • Good understanding of customs procedures and international trade compliance
  • Knowledge of Incoterms and shipping documentation
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines
