You\βll play a key role in delivering a high quality service to internal and external clients through the conduct of audits, production of audit reports, providing advice and consultative services and contributing to the overall development of the service and audit planning. This will support the Chief Internal Auditor in providing an opinion on the system of internal control that support the management of strategic and operational risks.
What you\βll be doing:
As a Senior Auditor, your responsibilities will include:
β Checking the Audit mailbox each day and responding accordingly to emails received
β Ensuring that the Whistle Blowing hotline is monitored at all times
β Carrying out audits with due professional care and in accordance with professional standards, the Audit manual and performance standards
β Assisting in the design and update of audit plans, design of audit programmes and overall development of the audit service.
β Assessing client working practices and business risks to ensure compliance with Financial Regulations, Standing Orders and best practice to provide assurance to Senior Management.
β Maintaining up to date knowledge of progression in professional audit developments and current issues.
What we\βre looking for:
We\βre seeking candidates who can hit the ground running with strong experience in financial auditing, ideally within a local authority setting. You will need:
β At least 2 years prior Auditor experience
β Experience of dealing with senior officers i.e. Service Directors
β Ability to scope audits on your own
