Pertemps Education is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and well-resourced Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Kent, who are seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team on both a part-time and full-time basis. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs and who have relevant experience working within SEN settings.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, which may include autism, learning difficulties, communication needs, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management
  • Promoting a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
  • Supporting pupils’ academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and personal development
  • Implementing behaviour and support strategies in line with individual education plans (EHCPs)
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and engagement
