We are currently looking for an experienced Site Agent / Site Manager with a strong engineering bias to oversee the delivery of civil engineering and highways projects across Devon and Cornwall. You'll play a key role in managing projects such as junction improvements, cycleway extensions, and temporary works, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected regional contractor with a strong reputation for quality and long-term local projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day site management and delivery
- Drive HSE performance through inductions, RAMS, audits, and site briefings
- Manage subcontractors, labour, plant, and materials effectively
- Plan and report on progress, maintaining accurate site records
- Ensure works are completed to specification, budget, and timescale
- Liaise with clients, designers, and stakeholders to resolve issues
About You:
- Proven background as a Site Agent or Site Manager within civil engineering or highways
- Experience delivering highways projects such as junction upgrades, cycleways, and temporary works
- Previous experience working for a Tier 1 main contractor
- Strong technical knowledge, HSE leadership, and communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
Qualifications:
- SMSTS (or equivalent)
- CSCS
- First Aid at Work
- Temporary Works (Appointed Person/Supervisor) – advantageous
