Parking Representations Officer — £21.12 per hour (Umbrella) — Remote | 3-month ongoing contract — 36 hours per week Mon to Fri

We are currently recruiting an experienced Parking Representations Officer to join a busy Parking Back Office team on a remote, ongoing contract. This role focuses on reviewing and responding to challenges and representations against Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs), ensuring decisions are made in line with current legislation and local authority policy.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and determine challenges and formal representations against PCNs at all stages
  • Review evidence including CEO notes, audit trails, photographs and location maps
  • Make informed decisions to uphold or cancel PCNs in line with legislation and council policy
  • Prepare and issue statutory correspondence and legal notices within agreed timescales
  • Respond to written correspondence, emails and queries from motorists, MPs and councillors
  • Liaise with Enforcement Agents regarding debt recovery cases, payment plans and vulnerabilities
  • Maintain accurate records on parking enforcement systems and document management systems
  • Provide clear, professional explanations of decisions to support compliance

Essential Experience & Knowledge

  • Proven experience working in a Parking Enforcement / PCN Processing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Traffic Management Act 2004, PCN challenge and appeals process
  • Understanding of contravention codes, signage and road markings
  • Experience using parking enforcement IT systems and MS Office
  • Ability to interpret legislation, exercise discretion and justify decisions clearly
  • Excellent written communication skills, including drafting non-standard responses
  • Ability to work independently to targets in a high-volume environment
