The Opportunity:

As a Motor Vehicle Skills Trainer, you’ll deliver hands‑on, high‑quality training to Army personnel. This role goes beyond teaching — it’s an opportunity to shape the future of military engineering by sharing your technical expertise, building learners’ skills, confidence, and knowledge, and inspiring them to succeed.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Deliver engaging, practical training using modern teaching methods and prepared course materials
- Develop lesson plans, training aids, and assessments to support effective learning
- Monitor learner progress, providing feedback and additional support as required
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to continuously improve training delivery
- Maintain your own CPD to ensure training content remains current and industry‑aligned
- Deliver all apprenticeship elements in line with Ofsted, ESFA, and awarding body standards
- Plan and deliver workshops to develop essential knowledge, skills, and behaviours
- Inspire, motivate, and support learners to achieve their full potential
- Build and maintain strong relationships with learners, colleagues, and wider stakeholders
What You’ll Bring:
Essential Skills & Experience:- Strong workshop experience with diagnostic skills in light vehicles or HGVs
- Passion for teaching, learning, and assessment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on coaching and development
- Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement
- Experience with military vehicles or in a military training environment
- Knowledge of apprenticeships or government‑funded training programmes
- Teaching qualification highly desirable; however the organisation offers a fully funded Level 4 Teaching Qualification
- GCSE Maths & English (Grade C / 4 or above) or equivalent
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Mechanics
- Ability to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance
- Enhanced DBS (EDBS) required
