Overview

We are recruiting for an experienced Internal Sales professional to join a well-established electrical wholesale business. This is a senior, all-round role suited to someone who wants genuine responsibility and involvement in the day-to-day running of the branch, rather than a purely transactional internal sales position. The successful candidate will take ownership across sales, customer relationships, and operational support, working closely with management to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage internal sales activities, handling customer enquiries via phone and email
  • Prepare and manage quotations, pricing, and margin control
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key contractor and trade accounts
  • Support and, where required, take responsibility for aspects of the day-to-day branch operation
  • Work closely with suppliers on pricing, availability, and lead times
  • Support external sales and business development activity
  • Oversee order processing, stock availability, back orders, and deliveries
  • Handle customer queries, pricing issues, and escalations professionally
  • Contribute to branch performance, sales growth, and customer retention
  • Support branch management with operational and commercial tasks as required

Experience & Skills Required

  • Proven experience within electrical wholesale (essential)
  • Strong internal / inside sales background with a commercial mindset
  • Broad product knowledge across electrical wholesale ranges
  • Confident managing customer accounts and negotiating pricing
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable taking responsibility
  • Able to work across multiple areas of the business as needed
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
