The Employer: We are looking to fill the role of a Grounds Maintenance Operative within a housing environment. Our client is one of the largest Social Housing providers in the South of England. They have an ambitious 5-year plan focused on creating a sustainable future for social housing, building new homes, and investing in existing ones to create vibrant communities.
The Role:
- Responsible for delivering grounds maintenance services to the communal areas of managed estates.
- Upkeep of external communal areas, including grass, shrubs, hedges, and soft landscaping/minor tree work.
- Using a PDA reporting system to record site visits and tasks.
- Performing grass cutting, hedge trimming, pruning, weed control, litter picking, and other related tasks.
- Maintaining equipment cleanliness and reporting defects.
- Keeping vehicles clean and checking oil and coolant levels, reporting issues.
- Assisting other trades and ensuring high-quality service to residents.
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience in a similar role or trade background, preferably grounds maintenance.
- Knowledge of mechanical and hand tools used in grounds maintenance.
- Understanding customer needs and quick thinking skills.
- Courteous and professional behavior.
- Ability to prioritize conflicting demands.
- Good communication skills.
Desirable: National Proficiency Test certificate for pesticide control (Pa1, Pa6a), NPTC certification, and a clean driving license with towing ability.
Summary: This is a full-time Temp to Perm role, 40 hours per week over 5 days. The role includes a company van, PPE, fuel card, tablet, and mobile. A satisfactory Basic DBS check is required.
