Pertemps are recruiting for an experienced Transport Controller to join a busy transport operation based in Westhill, Cumbernauld. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role suited to someone who is confident managing drivers, making operational decisions, and keeping a transport department running smoothly in the absence of senior management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Controlling and coordinating drivers to ensure all deliveries and collections are completed safely, efficiently and on time
  • Acting as the first point of contact for drivers during shifts
  • Making real-time decisions to resolve issues such as delays, vehicle breakdowns or route changes
  • Monitoring driver hours, tachographs and compliance using systems such as Tachomaster
  • Ensuring all transport operations comply with legal, safety and company requirements
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting any issues to management

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has strong knowledge of transport operations and driver compliance
  • Is confident using Tachomaster or similar tachograph systems
  • Can manage, support and control drivers in a busy environment
  • Is able to work independently and take responsibility when senior management are not on site
  • Remains calm and organised under pressure
  • Has excellent communication and decision-making skills

Working Hours

  • 5 days over 7 on a rota basis
  • Rotating shifts: 6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm, 10pm – 6am
