Pertemps are delighted to be working with our public sector client to recruit a Housing Assistant on a temporary basis.
This role sits within a busy housing service and supports Housing Officers with the day-to-day administration involved in allocating and managing housing stock across the city.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting direct lets across public sector stock, Wheatley Homes and Housing Associations.
- Assisting Housing Officers with a range of administrative tasks.
- Reviewing lists of people in temporary accommodation to identify suitable nominations for available properties.
- Contacting suitable applicants by phone to discuss potential housing offers.
- Managing email correspondence and responding to enquiries.
- Navigating internal housing systems and updating records accurately.
- Maintaining spreadsheets and updating information using Excel.
- Providing general administrative support to the housing team as required.
This role involves regular contact with applicants and colleagues, requiring a professional, clear and empathetic approach.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven administrative experience in a busy office or customer-focused environment.
- Comfortable and confident speaking to people on the phone.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (updating spreadsheets) and Outlook.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines.
- A proactive, reliable and team-focused approach.
