What you’ll be doing as a Construction Assurance Engineer
- Supporting design and delivery reviews, helping to identify risks and issues early, and working with a range of stakeholders to find practical, collaborative solutions.
- Carrying out health and safety audits and promoting a safe working culture where everyone feels supported and listened to.
- Focusing on the construction phase of wastewater projects—assessing progress, reporting proactively, and stepping in where needed to keep projects on track. You’ll also ensure any non‑conformance is identified, addressed, and resolved.
- Managing, identifying, and resolving snags while working closely with Operators and contractors after takeover to support defect resolution, aftercare processes, and performance testing.
- Monitoring, agreeing, and approving Takeover tests alongside the project team. Ensuring project documentation meets required standards and that takeover information is complete and fully approved.
- Working as an active, valued member of one or more project teams in partnership with our contractors, contributing your voice, perspective and expertise.
Hybrid – Hampton Coal Wharf
As part of this role, you must be on site 3-4 days a week, 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
The successful candidate must drive and have a car
This role comes with a car allowance of ÂŁ4,500 a year.

- An HNC or above in an engineering‑related subject, or experience from a similar role.
- Knowledge of construction‑site health and safety. If you don’t yet have an SMSTS qualification, we can support you in gaining it.
- Understanding of design, construction, and operational processes
- Experience in project delivery and integration within construction.
- Confidence in communicating with various stakeholders and working as part of a collaborative team.
