We’re currently recruiting Class 1 HIAB Drivers to work with a major national home improvement retailer in the Edinburgh area.
Location: Edinburgh (EH15)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: Temporary until June 2026 initially
Shifts:
- Week 1: Monday to Friday
- Week 2: Monday to Saturday
Approx start time: 8:00am
Pay Rates:
- Standard rate: £15.76 per hour
- Enhanced rates apply for Saturday, Sunday, and Bank Holidays
Main Duties:
- Safely operate a Class 1 HIAB vehicle to deliver to stores, trade customers, and residential addresses
- Carry out precise brick-grab offloads to site, ensuring safe placement of materials as directed
- Operate a HIAB crane for loading and offloading in line with best practice
- Deliver building materials for a leading DIY & home improvement brand
- Routes across Edinburgh & the Lothians
- Multi-drop deliveries involving crane-assisted offloads and some manual handling
- Complete daily vehicle and HIAB equipment checks
- Maintain high standards of health & safety at all times
- Provide a professional, customer-focused service
- Accurately complete PODs, paperwork, and tachograph records
What You’ll Need:
- Valid UK Class 1 licence
- Previous brick-grab experience
- HIAB Certificate – C5+E essential
- Valid CPC & Digital Tacho Card
- Previous HIAB or commercial driving experience preferred
- Strong customer service skills and a flexible approach
