Role Overview
In this role, you will deliver high-quality Occupational Therapy support within the community, working with individuals who have permanent, complex, or substantial disabilities. You will carry out holistic, person-centred assessments to identify functional needs, risks, and barriers to independence, ensuring all recommendations are evidence-based and aligned with best practice. You will work closely with service users, families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to design and implement tailored intervention plans – including equipment provision, moving and handling recommendations, home adaptations, and strategies to increase safety, independence, and quality of life. The role requires confident clinical reasoning, strong communication skills, and the ability to review and evaluate ongoing cases to ensure interventions remain effective and proportionate.
Key Requirements & Experience
- Proven experience delivering effective Occupational Therapy assessments for disabled people and carers within diverse inner-city communities.
- Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with service users and carers to promote independence through appropriate OT interventions, including complex moving & handling.
- Ability to review, monitor, and evaluate intervention outcomes to ensure continuous improvement and effectiveness.
- UK State Registered Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Current Enhanced DBS.
