About the Role
Our client are a leading UK manufacturer of timber fire-rated doorsets and panels, supplying high-quality products to the construction, commercial, and industrial sectors. We are looking for an experienced CAD/CAM Technician with strong skills in SolidWorks and MasterCAM to join our production and design team. You will be responsible for developing precise 3D models, technical drawings, and CNC programs that support efficient, compliant, and accurate manufacturing processes. This is a hands-on technical role working at the intersection of design and production.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings of doorsets, panels, and components.
- Create CNC toolpaths and machining programs using MasterCAM.
- Collaborate with production teams to optimise processes and ensure accuracy in CNC machining.
- Adapt and update existing designs to meet bespoke client requirements.
- Ensure designs and processes comply with fire safety standards and internal quality procedures.
- Support the development of prototypes, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with design engineers, project managers, and workshop teams to deliver projects efficiently.
Requirements
- Proven experience using SolidWorks for 3D modelling and manufacturing drawings.
- Proficiency in MasterCAM for CNC programming and machining.
- Background in manufacturing, joinery, or a related field (fire-rated products experience desirable).
- Strong knowledge of CNC machinery, tooling, and materials.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and time management skills.
