Are you mechanically minded, reliable, and looking for a hands‑on role where every day is different? We’re recruiting a Field Service Operative to join a growing service team working across the UK. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, problem‑solving, and delivering excellent service to customers.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carrying out repair and maintenance work on mechanical and retail equipment at various customer sites
- Fitting, stripping, straightening, and welding components to required standards
- Completing planned preventative maintenance, inspections, and reactive repairs
- Supporting occasional assembly work on specialist products
- Travelling to multiple sites each day — your working hours start from your home address as you travel in a company vehicle
- Completing job reports, timesheets, and service documentation accurately
- Monitoring service quality and escalating issues where needed
- Using the company’s service management system, including daily vehicle checks and parts usage logging
- Following all health & safety procedures and reporting any incidents or near misses
- Attending training sessions as required
- Overnight stays may be required on occasions when working further afield.
What We’re Looking For
- Solid mechanical understanding and practical problem‑solving ability
- Reliable, customer‑focused, and flexible in approach
- Previous MIG welding experience is advantageous
- Comfortable working outdoors and travelling between sites
- Able to work independently and manage your own workload
- Strong awareness of health & safety
- FULL UK Driving Licence with minimal endorsements is essential
- Must be clean‑shaven to meet Respiratory Protective Equipment requirements (alternative RPE available for religious or medical reasons)
