Duties
- Inspection & Damage Assessment: Methodically inspect vehicles to identify and record all damage to bodywork, mechanical, and electrical systems, including advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
- Estimating & Costing: Use estimating software to calculate labour, parts (OEM, recycled, aftermarket), and materials, creating detailed repair specifications and ensuring profitability.
- Repair Viability: Assess the vehicle's pre-repair value and decide whether to repair, write off (total loss), or settle the claim.
- Liaison & Communication: Effectively communicate with customers, insurance companies, body shop managers, and technicians to explain repair methods and gain approval.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate digital and manual records, reports, and job cards, ensuring compliance with standards. Provide service level agreements, ensuring customers are contacted regarding repairs and non-related damage and where applicable agree amended repair hours with the workshop leadership teams and technicians.
