Pertemps are delighted to be partnering with an established independent chartered accountancy firm with strong roots in the North East. This forward-thinking firm provides a comprehensive range of services, including tax advice, accounting, and business consultancy, helping businesses thrive with expert financial guidance. This position offers the opportunity to work with a broad client base, including sole traders, partnerships, limited companies, and charities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handling client queries and providing support on an ad-hoc basis.
- Preparing corporation tax computations and assisting with tax-related queries.
- Compiling management accounts and VAT returns for a diverse client base.
- Leading audit assignments, including planning, fieldwork, and completion, covering specialist audits such as SAR and charities.
- Preparing accounts from various client systems, including Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks.
- Addressing queries raised by accounts and tax managers regarding accounts and working papers.
- Finalising accounts after client meetings and ensuring all necessary adjustments are made.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong technical knowledge with an up-to-date understanding of current legislation.
- Qualified ACA/ACCA, a finalist, or qualified by experience.
- Ideally, at least four years of experience in an accounting practice.
- Experience preparing year-end accounts for owner-managed SMEs, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, and Xero is advantageous.
- Experience in statutory auditing, including charities and Solicitors Accounts Rules, is beneficial.
