We have an opportunity for an Auction Porter/Sales Assistant to join our local client on a temporary ongoing basis based in Derby. Our client offers individuals the ability to progress in their role working for one of Britain's greatest Auction Houses.
Shift Patterns / Working Hours
- Week 1: Monday, Thursday, Friday 9am to 5.30pm; Tuesday 9am to 6pm; Wednesday 9am to 6.30pm
- Week 2: Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm with 1 hour break – split into 2 x 15 minute breaks and 1 x 30 minute break
The successful Auction Porter will have:
- A Driving License
- Excellent customer service skills
- Written and spoken English; this role requires communication with the wider public
- Good computer and Internet skills
- Attention to detail
- An interest in antiques and collectables is preferable but no experience is necessary
- A professional, positive attitude
- Reliability and the ability to cope with a physically demanding role; manual handling training will be provided
- The ability to work as part of a small team
Your duties as an Auction Porter will include:
- Handling a wide range of valuable items
- Dealing with customers face to face
- Assisting with the preparation of the internet catalogue
- Picking and packing purchased lots for dispatch
- Supporting customers with loading their vehicles; loading and unloading vans; other general duties including being present in the saleroom on viewing and sale days
