What does the job entail?
We are recruiting a Plant Operator to work at Lower House Farm Transfer Station. This is a key operational role supporting the safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant running of the site. Alongside operating the JCB 457, the role includes weighbridge duties and providing deputy cover for the Transfer Station Supervisor when required.
You will achieve this by:
- Operating the JCB 457 safely and efficiently
- Ensuring the transfer station is kept clean, tidy, and well organised
- Loading vehicles when required
- Supporting weighbridge operations
- Ensuring the site operates in a safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant manner
- Meeting all Duty of Care and legislative requirements
- Ensuring the site remains fully operational during opening hours
- Correct operation and basic maintenance of plant and machinery
What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?
- Experience working with members of the public
- A genuine interest in waste minimisation and recycling
- Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Physically capable of manual work
- Experience operating plant machinery (JCB experience preferred)
