This role leads the Asset Condition Inspection team within the Engineering team. As a centre of expertise, this new team will support the Asset Management function to meet customer expectations and regulatory targets through inspection and condition assessment of above-ground assets, supporting the prioritisation of investment for asset maintenance and replacement.

An experienced people and technical manager, you will recruit and manage a team of asset condition inspectors with a range of technical skill sets to cover various asset types (civil, mechanical, electrical, ICA). As the leader of a newly created team, you will develop and improve capability, systems, and processes for asset condition assessment.

What you’ll be doing as an Asset Condition Assessment Manager:

  • Manage a programme of condition assessments for above-ground assets, ensuring standards and quality assurance are maintained.
  • Understand asset condition risk and promote it within the business to guide investment and risk management.
  • Develop and project manage the asset condition assessment programme.
  • Lead and develop a team of asset condition inspectors.

What you should bring to the role:

  • Experienced technical or engineering manager with a supportive leadership style.
  • Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Relevant certifications in asset inspection and condition monitoring.
  • Experience delivering technical programmes on fixed schedules.
  • Ability to analyze technical info and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills and stakeholder relationship experience.
  • Experience in the water or utilities industry is preferred.
