Elite Consultancy Network is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a highly successful, owner-managed organisation within the industrial equipment sector. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an ambitious Area Sales Manager to drive sales and build long-term customer relationships across the West Midlands. This is a customer-facing, consultative B2B sales role, ideally suited to a commercially driven individual with proven experience in industrial equipment, material handling, access equipment, or power generation. You will enjoy autonomy, high-quality products, and the chance to significantly increase your earnings in a supportive, growth-focused environment.

The Role

As Area Sales Manager, your primary focus will be to promote and sell a premium industrial product portfolio, with particular emphasis on:

  • Telescopic Lift Trucks (TLT / Teletrucks)
  • Access Equipment
  • Generators

You will work closely with customers across a wide range of industrial sectors, including:

  • Logistics
  • Warehousing
  • Manufacturing
  • Distribution
  • Recycling

By developing a deep understanding of customer operations and applications, you will deliver tailored material handling and power solutions, managing the full sales cycle from initial engagement through to delivery and aftersales support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, develop, and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of customer operations, applications, and technical requirements
  • Identify customer needs and deliver consultative, solution-led sales
  • Prepare and present accurate machinery quotations using internal sales systems
  • Conduct full appraisals of used equipment
  • Complete accurate machine specifications and order documentation
  • Conduct on-site machine demonstrations and assist with installations
  • Monitor customer accounts and support payment collection
  • Maintain CRM records to support forecasting, planning, and reporting
  • Achieve and exceed sales, profitability, and customer service targets
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and key stakeholders
  • Ensure all administration and reporting is completed accurately and on time
  • Work safely in line with company health & safety standards and policies

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Proven track record in B2B sales within the construction sector.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to solve customer challenges
  • Experience in consultative, solution-led selling
  • Confident in needs analysis, negotiation, and closing sales
  • Ability to plan, manage, and forecast sales activity effectively
  • Full UK driving licence with a good driving record
