We’re delighted to be partnering with a long-established, highly respected industrial manufacturing business based in Winsford to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer. This is a hands-on, site-based role offering stability, excellent earning potential, and a great work-life balance with day shifts only. You’ll be joining a skilled engineering team where your mechanical expertise will play a vital role in keeping a fast-paced manufacturing operation running safely and efficiently. The Role
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and improving site reliability through a combination of reactive and planned maintenance. Key responsibilities include:
- Responding quickly and effectively to mechanical breakdowns across the manufacturing site
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) to minimise downtime
- Replacing and maintaining bearings, gland packing, belt drives and chain drives
- Supporting machinery installations, upgrades and improvement projects
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in full compliance with site procedures
About You
You’ll be a practical, mechanically biased engineer who is confident working independently while also being a strong team player. You’ll bring:
- Proven mechanical maintenance experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, components and fault-finding techniques
- The ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- A proactive, continuous-improvement mindset
- Good communication skills and a collaborative approach
Pay & Benefits
Day shifts only: Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 15:45
Competitive salary: £42,000 per annum
Excellent overtime rates: Weekday overtime paid at 1.5x Weekend overtime paid at 1.75x Standby / on-call payments for weekday and occasional weekend cover Disturbance fees and minimum call-out hours paid when called in
