Shift Leader Responsibilities:- Oversee the safe and efficient running of all production lines, ensuring production and hygiene targets are met daily as set by the Site Manager.
- Manage the production and packing of the automated ice packing line, ensuring finished products are built into pallets and stored safely in the site freezer.
- Supervise 1-2 product packing operatives per shift.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of all production equipment, including the ability to perform simple equipment resets to maintain performance.
- Implement the daily production and cleaning schedules, maintaining accurate records for audit purposes. This includes weight checks, metal detection checks, clean-down activities, etc.
- Maintain production efficiency, managing waste levels (especially packaging) to a minimum.
- Operate the site Fork Lift Truck and Powered Pump Truck to load/unload pallets into the warehouse freezer and transport pallets from the freezer to trucks (full training provided if necessary).
- Oversee the raw materials and goods-in information for the site, ensuring warehouse efficiency is maintained.
- Efficiently use a computer to produce daily documentation, including shift reports and other required paperwork.
- Primary role involves the production and packing of artisan ice products, ensuring finished products are packed into cartons and stored safely in the site freezer.
- At times, assist the Shift Leader with stacking and moving ice/pallets produced on the automated line.
- Manage the daily cleaning routine and maintain appropriate records for audit purposes, including weight checks, metal detection checks, clean-down activities, etc.
- Maintain production efficiency and manage waste levels, particularly packaging, to a minimum.
