Overview: The Quality Lead will have ownership of coating processes and the Quality Management System (QMS). As the go-to person for all special processes and technical expertise, this role requires close collaboration with manufacturing teams to maintain and improve operational performance in key special process areas. Additionally, the Quality Lead will be responsible for any new product or process qualifications.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Quality Management System: Serve as the subject matter expert for quality systems and special processes.
- Manage and resolve customer complaints.
- Maintain and update the QMS to reflect new and corporate requirements.
- Ensure compliance with technical standards in chemical processing controls.
- Oversee calibration compliance and work instructions.
- Drive continuous improvement in business management systems.
- Manage business reviews and audit plans, ensuring timely audit closure.
- Identify and mitigate company risks.
- Represent the company during accreditation and certification audits.
- Product & Process Development: Lead the qualification of new products and processes.
- Ensure processes comply with corporate, customer, and third-party regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement activities for cost reduction and process repeatability/reliability.
- Utilize Zero Defect tools to reduce the cost of poor quality.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Degree in Chemistry or Materials (Desirable, not essential).
- Experience with AS9100 and Nadcap approvals (Heat Treat, Chemical Processing, and Non-destructive Testing) is desirable.
- Experience within a fast-paced, aerospace environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with Zero Defect tools and their implementation to address the cost of poor quality is a plus.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing both internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills.
