Job Title: Head of Quality Location: Wallasey, Wirral Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 DOE Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Hours: Monday – Thursday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Friday, 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM Industry: Production About the Role We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a highly skilled and detail-orientated Head of Quality to lead the Quality Assurance and Control team. This hybrid role will ensure adherence to quality standards across all manufacturing processes (QA focus), while also managing the day-to-day activities of the Quality Control (QC) team to support operational excellence. Please note: this role does not hold responsibility for the Quality Management Systems (QMS). Key Responsibilities Quality Assurance (QA): Monitor, assess, and verify compliance of manufacturing processes with established quality standards. Conduct audits, identify gaps, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement. Promote understanding of CAPAs, their importance, and support teams in implementing corrective/preventative actions. Develop and maintain QA documentation, including inspection protocols, test plans, and reports. Train operational staff on quality standards and best practices. Monitor and report on quality metrics, producing interval reports and recommendations. Assist with supplier quality assessments and incoming raw material inspections. Develop a culture of CI to reduce waste, increase efficiencies, and enhance product consistency. Quality Control (QC): Lead, coach, and develop the QA/QC team to ensure optimal performance. Support the transition of in-line process control to Production teams. Schedule and co-ordinate daily QC activities in line with production needs. Ensure testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained. Review and approve inspection results, non-conformance reports, and product release documentation. Develop and embed SOPs and Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs). Collaborate with Production, R&D, and Compliance teams to align quality initiatives with business objectives. Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure compliance. Key Requirements Strong knowledge of QA/QC processes, inspection techniques, and root cause analysis tools. Proven leadership and people management skills, with experience developing high-performing teams. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g. ISO, GMP). Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
