Join the finishing team to fettle castings and metal parts prior to paint/machining. Work includes removing gates/risers/flash, grinding and dressing to specification. The role involves noise, vibration and dust — appropriate controls and PPE are provided.
Key Responsibilities:- Grind, trim and de-burr castings to specification and visual standards
- Use hand grinders/linishers and local exhaust ventilation correctly
- Carry out basic visual inspection and complete simple paperwork
- Experience in fettling, grinding or similar metal finishing
- Good awareness of safe working practices (LEV/RPE, vibration)
- Able to read simple drawings and follow quality requirements
- Strong attention to detail and housekeeping standards
- Stable hours with an early finish every Friday
- PPE provided and training on safe systems of work
- Clear quality targets and supportive supervision
