About the Role
We’re looking for an organised and proactive Transport Planner to join our growing logistics team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for creating efficient, cost-effective transport plans that ensure the smooth and timely delivery of goods. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external partners to optimise scheduling, maximise vehicle utilisation, and maintain exceptional service levels. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and has a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement daily and long-term transport plans that support business and supply chain objectives.
- Manage transportation schedules, ensuring goods are dispatched and delivered on time.
- Use Excel to analyse data, track KPIs, and prepare performance reports.
- Collaborate with drivers, warehouse teams, and external logistics partners to coordinate operations effectively.
- Continuously identify and implement improvements in route planning and transport efficiency.
- Communicate clearly through reports, emails, and meetings using Word and Outlook.
- Provide guidance or mentoring to junior team members as required.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in transport planning (minimum 1 year).
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
- Confident communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Understanding of supply chain and logistics operations (advantageous).
- Demonstrated leadership or mentoring abilities.
