The Role
You’ll be involved in the design and delivery of highways, drainage, earthworks, and public realm infrastructure, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders from concept to completion. The role offers the opportunity to work independently while gaining mentorship and support toward chartership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design of highways, drainage, SuDS, earthworks, and external works schemes.
- Production and review of technical drawings, design reports, and specifications.
- Preparation of Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies to support planning.
- Liaise with clients, local authorities, and design teams.
- Prepare and coordinate designs for Section 278, 38, and 104 agreements.
- Attend site visits and support construction queries.
- Provide guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
About You
- Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering (BEng/MEng or equivalent).
- Working toward Chartered status (ICE or similar).
- Knowledge of UK drainage and highway design principles.
- Experience using Civil 3D, MicroDrainage (or Causeway Flow), PDS, and AutoCAD.
- Understanding of SuDS design and local adoption processes.
- Excellent communication and teamworking skills.
