We're working with a well-established Exeter-based consultancy who are looking to strengthen its Transport Planning team with the addition of a Senior Transport Planner. You'll be joining at a busy time, with a strong pipeline of development planning and infrastructure projects continuing well into 2026.
The role
- Take ownership of projects from day one on a wide variety of transport planning and multi-disciplinary schemes.
- Manage client relationships and represent the consultancy in public consultations and negotiations with local highway authorities.
- Prepare and oversee technical work, including feasibility studies, Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and S106 negotiations.
- Mentor junior colleagues and play a key role in supporting the long-term growth of the team.
What we're looking for
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, or a related subject (MSc Transport Planning desirable).
- Around 5–10 years' relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of highway design guidance (MfS, DMRB etc) and the planning system (NPPF).
- Experience using key software such as ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG, GIS and Excel.
