JUNIOR MECHANICAL ESTIMATORROLE
My client are leading Building Services Contractor who have been operating for almost 40 years.
Based out of their HQ in the heart of Central London, they now employ over 600 staff across the business.
Due to growth, they are now seeking a Junior Mechanical Estimator to join their team.
THE ROLE – JUNIOR MECHANICAL ESTIMATOR
We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Mechanical Estimator to support our growing team.
This entry-level role focuses on assisting with cost estimation for mechanical systems including HVAC, industrial.
The ideal candidate has a background in mechanical engineering or building services and a keen eye for detail, with a desire to build a long-term career in mechanical estimating.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing cost proposals for mechanical systems (HVAC, BMS, Electrical, CAT A, Central plant replacement (Chiller, Boilers)
- Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Support Associate Director Head of Projects in developing detailed scope of work and pricing breakdowns.
- Review and analyse quotations from subcontractors and Suppliers
- Participate in site visits, pre-bid meetings, and client walkthroughs when necessary.
- Work with consultants and our project management teams to ensure technical and budgetary accuracy.
REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience:
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related technical field.
- Previous experience, in mechanical estimating or construction is preferred but not required.
- Understanding of mechanical systems (HVAC)
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and construction documents.
- Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Work experience with AutoCAD
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
