We are delighted to be working with an independent, multidisciplinary consultancy based in South Wales. This award-winning business has decades of local presence, delivering innovative solutions to the market in South Wales and beyond. As a result of the growth and development of the business, this business is now involved in major projects relating to renewable energy and require an experienced project manager to work on behalf of both public and private sector clients. These projects are some of the most progressive of their kind and significantly contribute to regional and national green energy policy initiatives.
Company involvement focusses around multiple workstreams, including: green energy storage, solar, grid reinforcement, power regulation, power to site, services and utility configuration. This role will be a mix of procurement, interfacing with the market and specialist suppliers, cost and project management, programme and risk management.
Responsibilities:
- Representing the business and the client in the market
- Preparing a variety of tender and contract documentation
- Preparing contract scope and specifications
- Overseeing the production of tender schedules
- Running supplier events
- Managing tender queries
- Interviewing suppliers
- Reviewing tender documentation and advising the client on outcomes
- Managing internal job costings in relation to the fee and services and resource requirements
- Cost planning and reporting
- Viability analysis
- Contract administration
- Assessing project team resources available on a regular basis and bringing in additional Third-Party support / specialist expertise
- Overseeing project reporting and recording procedures with the client and the developer’s professional team and contractor
- Advising the client of any decisions required and obtain formal investment authorisation
- Managing, monitoring and coordinating all key aspects of the project including, cost, quality, value, risk, logistics, design and environment
This role requires someone to manage the project to safely deliver on time, to stated quality, at optimum cost and to client satisfaction, acting as the link between the client and other key stakeholders.

- Prior experience of complex procurement events
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Project, programme and cost management experience, within the energy sector
- An understanding of macro and micro economic factors
