Our client is offering an excellent opportunity to join a buzzing late shift team, as part of a rapidly growing transport business. Customer service is ultimately at the heart of this role, and we prioritise an enthusiastic personality fit over industry experience.

Reporting to a Team Leader, you will be responsible for being the first point of contact for customers and drivers. The role requires a high level of flexibility and the ability to communicate orally as well as in writing, working off your own initiative and performing consistently and efficiently. Communication will be via telephone, email, and proactive alerts, working to achieve optimum customer satisfaction and service delivery at all times.

Our client has temporary and permanent opportunities available, ranging from continental shift patterns, PM shifts, and night shifts - we will be open-minded with all applications.

Duties of Transport Controller include:

  • Maintaining a high level of customer service to clients and drivers.
  • Responding appropriately and professionally to all customer requests.
  • Allocating jobs to drivers and planning routes to achieve required response times to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintaining continuous contact with customers and drivers during the end-to-end process.
  • Costing of jobs for customers and drivers.
  • Being a professional and efficient point of contact for customers and drivers via inbound/outbound calls and email.
  • Handling live customer complaints.
  • Creating and managing awareness of real-time resource availability.
  • Accurate pricing of jobs for drivers and customers as per pricing process.

Applicant Criteria:

  • Strong work ethic giving full attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven experience in a service delivery/remote resource management role.
  • Able to solve problems with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate a strong customer focus in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills with rapport-building abilities.
  • Good basic administration/computer skills.
  • Proven customer service experience.
  • Generates enthusiasm and has a positive attitude to change.
  • Cost-focused problem solver with a view on prioritising business goals.
  • Must be able to commit to either a PM or night shift indefinitely.

Hours of work: 4 on, 4 off continental shift basis (this will include weekend working as and when it appears on your rota).

Pay: £13.64 per hour equating to roughly £28.5k per year.
